The "Juego de Sapo" or Frog Game will be open in the courtyard from 6:00-8:00pm for any guests who would like to enjoy this traditional Peruvian game of token tossing.  The Frog Game comes from the mystical, ancient history of the Incas and their sacred Lake Titicaca.  There is a legend that the game evolved from members of the royal Inca family and their court throwing gold pieces into the lake.  Frogs were known for their magical powers, and the players hoped to attract one's attention.  These Incas believed that if a frog came to the surface and took a gold piece in its mouth, the player would be instantly awarded with a wish and the frog would turn into solid gold.  "El Sapu" was the main character in the exciting game of suspense and dexterity, and in honor of so many wishes coming true, a great golden frog was made for all of royalty to enjoy.

We are pleased to welcome back artist Christina Heintzelman-Jones in the courtyard.  Christina became serious about photography after staying at Zen Mountain Monastery in Mount Tremper, New York, studying with John Daido Loori, Roshi.  Her style tends to be Zen in nature--photographing an emotion or sensation that asks you to contemplate the thoughts and stories each piece evokes as you view it.

Christina is the co-owner and curator for Gallery Blu, located in the Third Street Corridor Art District in Midtown Harrisburg, which strives to give voice to newly emerging Pennsylvania and regional artists.

This particular show, entitled "Visions From Peru", showcases Christina's photography taken during an extensive hiking tour through The Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and Cusco.
